Special Needs

This year at MAK, we are pleased to welcome our new learning specialist, Ms. Sylliac, to our expanded special needs program.  With the addition of Ms Sylliac, we are now better equipped to offer a variety of services to meet the educational needs of students with special needs.  We provide direct and inclusion services for our students with identified learning and/or behavioral difficulties, based on their learning needs.  Students with special needs are those students who require special educational accommodations, curricular modifications, and/or related support services based on an Individual Education Plan or a 504 plan.

Using the RTI (response to intervention model), we offer support to students that are struggling educationally by teaming up with their teachers, parents, other specialists, and administration to develop intervention plans and  utilize research-based strategies and programs to better assist students in their journey to be successful, lifelong learners.
