教師專業教育訓練日 – 十月2日(五)全天

This is a reminder that Friday, October 2nd will be a Morrison Academy Teachers’ Professional Learning Day and there will be NO SCHOOL for students tomorrow. This is a System-Wide Professional Learning Day for all teachers at Morrison Academy to meet, receive training, and learn from each other.

提醒您，本週五，十月二日是馬禮遜的教師專業教育訓練日，學生毋須上學。這是整個馬禮遜學校系統提供給所有教師們的專業教育訓練日，目的是為了讓教師們可以聚在一起接受訓練並且向彼此學習。

We will be on FALL BREAK from Monday, October 5 to Friday, October 9, 2020. We wish each MAK family a happy week off and a wonderful time with family! School will resume on Monday, October 12th.

FAMILY DAY PARKING PERMIT AUCTION!!  

This year we will once again have an auction in which parents can bid for a spot in the school parking lot during Family Day and have their car washed by the 11th grade class!  This auction is voluntary and all proceeds will go to the 11th grade Service Trip fund as the Juniors have been working hard to raise money for their Impact trips to Cambodia and Indonesia next fall. They are so excited for the opportunity to serve communities here in Taiwan and around Asia and would greatly appreciate your help in achieving their fundraising goals with this important and fun tradition!  

Only guests who bid and win will have access to the school parking lot during Family Day! All other vehicles will have to park outside the gate so be sure and bid high to support the Juniors.  The car wash is optional, you can select to simply have the parking spot, but it would be the 11th graders pleasure to wash your car to show you our appreciation for your bid. Spots are limited!!  You can use this link or the QR code attached to access the form through which you can place your bid.  Bids are due by Sunday, Oct. 18 at 11:59PM. Winners will be notified by email!  Please pay at the school office and receive your parking permit by the end of the school day Wednesday, Oct. 21 to avoid losing your spot to the next highest bidder!

家庭日停車證拍賣!!

今年的家庭日，我們將再次進行洗車拍賣。得標者將擁有家庭日當日校園內的專屬停車位，以及由11年級的學生提供的洗車服務！此次拍賣是自願性的，所有收益都將撥入11年級的服務旅行基金。11年級的學生一直在努力籌集資金，以用於明年秋天前往柬埔寨和印尼的影響力之旅。他們很高興有機會為台灣和亞洲各地的社區提供服務，並非常感謝您通過這一個重要而有趣的傳統，實現其為了要服務他人的籌款目標！

在家庭日期間，只有贏得競標的客人才能使用學校停車場！所有其他車輛都必須停在大門外，因此可以將標金提高以幫助我們的11年級生和確保有停車場位子可以停。洗車是可選的，您可以選擇僅提供停車位，但是11年級生都非常樂意為您洗車以表示感謝。位子有限！您可以透過此連結或QR碼的表格來下標。拍賣截止時間為十月18日(日)晚上11:59。我們將通過電子郵件通知所有的得標者！請於十月21日(三)放學之前到學校辦公室付款並領取停車許可證，以免您的停車位順讓給第二高的出價者！

親愛的 MAK 大家庭，
又到了一年一度的園遊會 (家庭日) 了！依照往常，我們需要您寶貴的時間來幫忙協助，讓這個活動成為難忘的回憶。請選擇您有興趣幫忙的項目。（可以複選，但請確定沒有時間上的衝突。）
送出您登記的項目後，您會收到一封確認信，上面會列出您的選項與時段。當天請大家記得準時到工作崗位報到喔！
為了謝謝您的幫忙，您可以在園遊會(十月24日，星期六)當天，免費進場。

MAK Library is running an online Scholastic Book Club, so please check your child’s book bag for the letter. Check out the online Book Club to find books that you want to order for your child. Because of Covid-19, leaflets will not be handed out. All orders must be done online. If you have questions or need help ordering, please email: greggl@ma.org.tw and Mrs. Gregg will help you with the order.

For every $1 you spend on this month’s Book Club, our school will earn 20¢ in Scholastic Rewards.

Completed order forms plus payment need to be completed by Friday. October 16.

MAK Robotics had a GREAT time competing in our first competition of the season!  Our team submitted two robots.  We fought valiantly against schools from across Taiwan including AST and TAS.  

MAK 機器人比賽在本賽季的第一場比賽中度過了美好的時光！ 我們的團隊製作且提交了兩隻機器人。 我們在這場比賽中與台灣各地的學校，包括台中美國學校以及台北美國學校，進行了英勇的對決！

Middle School Soccer Games scheduled @ Kaohsiung American School

Tuesday, October 13: MS Girls teams will play at KAS. Game is scheduled to be from 4:00-5:00pm.
Thursday, October 15: MS Boys teams will play at KAS. Game is scheduled to be from 4:00-5:00pm. 

MAK will provide transportation by bus to KAS after school for the games. However, parents are responsible to pick students up after the game. If a parent is unable to arrange transportation for their child, please let us know by emailing Mr. Gregg (greggj@ma.org.tw) and the student will not be permitted to go to the game and will go home as usual. Currently, KAS is not allowing any spectators to these games due to the coronavirus precautions. Once this changes, Mr. Gregg will send out more information. Only players and coaches at this point will be allowed on their campus. Thank you for your understanding.

下列是中學足球隊預定在高雄美國學校舉辦的比賽賽程：

十月13日(二)：中學女足比賽，預定在下午4:00至5:00進行。
十月15日(四)：中學男足比賽，預定在下午4:00至5:00進行。

學校將在放學後，提供前往美國學校的交通，但是家長必須在賽事結束後負責接送孩子回家。如果父母無法為孩子安排賽後的交通，請電郵知會Mr. Gregg(greggj@ma.org.tw)。該學生將無法參加比賽，並照常在放學後回家。目前，由於冠狀病毒的預防措施，高雄美國學校不允許任何觀眾進場觀賽。若有任何異動，Mr. Gregg將發送更多相關訊息。目前只有球員和教練能夠進入他們的校園。 謝謝您的諒解。
