The MAK library is located in the center of our school because reading is central to learning at MAK. Morrison strives to inspire students to be lifelong learners, and reading is one of the foundations of a quality and lasting education. The library promotes the love of reading through direct instruction to elementary classes, through collaborative teaching in the middle and high schools, and by providing a large collection of quality materials for everyone to enjoy.
MAK’s library has approximately 20,000 print volumes, including a substantial Chinese language selection, and through Morrison’s inter-library loan service students have an additional 60,000 volumes at their fingertips. Thousands of additional resources are also available through quality online databases. The library space is filled with computers and is adjacent to the computer lab. Every parent is welcome to create a library account.
The library plans special events like book fairs, reading programs, community presentations, and author visits. These special events present opportunities for our students and families to have fun and to enjoy literature.
The library is open from 7:45 AM to 3:30/4:30 PM Monday through Friday.
