| This year will be both a challenging and rewarding one for the 9th grade. Mrs. Jennifer Griffin and Mr. James C. Multra are both new in their roles as class sponsors, but have taught and coached these students for three years, and will also be teaching them this year in Math, Bible, History, and English. 9th grade at MAK is full of opportunities for students to expand their academic, social, and spiritual horizons. This is the first year of high school, and is a great time for students to adjust to the increased rigors of high school life. This is also the last year that these students will attend MAK, so the 9th grade program strives to give students a chance to deepen their relationships and prepare for the transition to a new school environment in 10th grade. 9th grade students also run a business together (the Student Store), have sleepover nights, and may take part in a class trip that they pay for themselves, using the proceeds from their Student Store.
At MAK, we purpose to give 9th graders all the tools they need to fulfill the Vision for Our Learners. By providing the many opportunities that we do, we believe and pray that our 9th graders have a challenging, fun, and rewarding first year of high school, and that they will be ready for the new roads that will open out before them when they move on from here.
