In Fourth Grade we want to reach the child at several different levels. Instruction is provided in large group, small group, and one-on-one environments through a variety of well-researched techniques.
In language arts we will be learning through a variety of methods. In Reading we use whole group novel study, small group literature circles and individual one-on-one attention in order to best improve each student's reading ability, while keeping the work interesting. In Writing class we will be improving our writing skills through Writer's Workshop. Each student will learn to think of themselves as a published author, and each will have the opportunity to share their works with their class and more. Their skills will be honed based on the student's individual needs.
Science will allow for many wonderful learning opportunities in the class and without. We will explore nature out of doors in order to really observe what is going on with our Earth. The science lab will be utilized in order to supplement learning opportunities while studying light, electricity and more.
Bible always remains a vital part of our school. As a Christian school one large purpose is to better equip our students to dynamically impact the world as Christians. In Fourth Grade we will be studying the Bible even deeper than in previous years.
